Alexander Gross is a trial lawyer and a partner in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Litigation Group. His practice includes a broad range of litigation matters in a variety of venues, with an emphasis on intellectual property, technology, antitrust, and complex commercial disputes. Mr. Gross has significant trial experience for both plaintiffs and defendants, including cross-examining adverse witnesses, and has successfully argued numerous motions, including claim construction, motions to exclude expert testimony, discovery motions, and evidentiary motions. He also has represented clients in appeals to the Federal, Second, and Fifth Circuits. Mr. Gross has been recognized by The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Commercial Litigation in 2024 and 2025, and was named as a runner-up “Litigator of the Week:” by The American Lawyer in January 2025.
Mr. Gross’s pro bono practice includes achieving a successful resolution for a client in New York State housing court and representing clients in criminal matters in the Eastern District of New York.
