“Cohen Discusses Fed Independence, Regulatory Overhaul” (Bloomberg TV)

December 10, 2009

Mr. Cohen was interviewed on Bloomberg TV about the White House's proposal for increased oversight for large financial institutions and the Federal Reserve's role in bank regulatory matters. “I think actually the worst thing that could come out [of the bill] would be to strip the Fed of its regulatory authority. This is the agency which is the most independent, is the most sophisticated, has the greatest sources of information. To pull it out of the regulatory and supervisory system I think would be the single biggest error,” he said.
