    With more than 30 UVA Law alumni currently practicing at S&C, the relationship between the two institutions can only be described as extraordinary.

    UVA Law alumni at S&C are based in our domestic and international offices (including Frankfurt, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C.) and practice in virtually every area offered by the Firm. Six current S&C partners are UVA Law alumni, and several UVA Law alumni at S&C have clerked, including at the federal appellate level and on the U.S. Supreme Court.

    UVA Law School alumni who join the Firm go on to pursue a range of prestigious opportunities, in addition to becoming partners at S&C. Firm alumni who attended UVA Law work in finance, as counsel to Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions, and in private practice. Several UVA Law graduates who practiced at S&C have transitioned into public interest and government roles.

    Today, S&C continues to partner with UVA Law both in and out of the classroom. The Firm advised the Virginia Law Review Association (VLRA) in its creation of the Virginia Law Review Centennial Fund. S&C partners have been guest lecturers and panelists at UVA Law and frequently visit the law school.

    On February 15, 2022, Associates Frank Orlich and Katherine Savarese participated in the UVA Virtual New York Day. Frank and Katherine spoke with UVA students interested in the New York market, and answered questions about life at the firm.

    Andrew Kim Attends The UVA APALSA Career Networking Day

    On February 2, 2022, Associate Andrew Kim attended the UVA APALSA Career Networking Day. Andrew first spoke with students one-on-one about the firm, after which he met with three small groups of students for 20 minutes each.

    Melissa Sawyer Speaks On The Virtual Virginia Law Women’s Spring 2022 Women In Big Law Event

    On February 9, 2022, Partner Melissa Sawyer spoke on the virtual Virginia Law Women’s Spring 2022 Women in Big Law Event. The panel covered markets, practice groups, work-life balance, mentorship, and partnership track. On February 10, Associate Alicia Roll hosted virtual S&C Office Hours as part of this event, where she met with four students one-on-one.
