Thank you for your interest in learning more about a career at S&C. Over the course of the recruiting season you will likely be inundated with information—from law schools, law firms, and other sources, which can make the process difficult to navigate at times. To that end, we wanted to provide you with some additional insight about our callback and offer processes, which we hope will be helpful to you as you begin the process of determining which law firm is the best fit for you.

    Our Approach to Callbacks

S&C callbacks are not just an interview; they provide an opportunity for meaningful discussion of candidates’ professional aspirations and a chance for us all to learn more about each other.

This year, S&C callbacks will be offered in person in our offices with the option to interview virtually if needed. Students learn a great deal from their visits to the firm where they meet our people, walk our hallways, and see our facilities. If you need to interview virtually, we encourage you to consider an in-person second visit if you receive an offer and it is feasible for you to do so.

    Scheduling Your Callback

If you are extended a callback invitation, you will receive an email from the Legal Talent Office that will explain how to schedule your callback using our online appointment book. We strongly encourage you to schedule your interview promptly as we have a limited number of interview slots available each day.

The evening before your callback, you will receive additional information about the day via email, including a list of the lawyers who you are scheduled to meet with.

    Offers & Offer Timeline

Generally, candidates will have 14 days to respond to their offers, although you should feel free to request additional time to consider your offer if needed and we will work with you to come up with an acceptable timeline. Choosing the firm where you will begin your legal career is a very important decision and we want to make sure you have ample opportunity to consider your options. For that reason, we do not turn our offers of employment into “exploding offers.”

    Additional Opportunities for Engagement

As noted above, we would be delighted to organize second visits for students who receive offers and would like to meet more of our lawyers. If you receive an offer, a member of the S&C recruiting team will be in touch with information about how to schedule a second visit or arrange other opportunities to learn more about the firm. You will also be invited to attend offer receptions where you can meet S&C partners, associates and summer associates, as well as other students with S&C offers.
