S&C offers two-week placement schemes in the spring and summer for students interested in joining the Firm as a trainee.
During these two weeks, students are included in a range of work and other activities to help them get a feel for S&C’s work and culture. There are also opportunities to meet socially the people who work at S&C, making this an interesting, rewarding and enjoyable introduction to the Firm and the legal profession more broadly.
Participants in the spring and summer vacation schemes are paid not less than £2,500 in total.

We will accept applications for our 2026 spring and summer vacation schemes from penultimate-year law students and final-year non-law students, as well as those studying for postgraduate degrees, from 1 October 2025 through 5 December 2025.
We expect to offer up to 20 places across our 2026 spring and summer vacation schemes.
We do not accept applications for our vacation schemes from students in their first year of university.

S&C will accept applications for its 2028 trainee intake from 1 May through 12 June 2026.
We expect to offer up to twelve trainee solicitor positions starting in 2028.
