Associates and Summer Associates

S&C recruits U.S.- and Canadian-qualified lawyers with French language ability for the Paris office. These lawyers sometimes start in one of the Firm’s U.S. offices or may join the Paris office directly. Applicants for associate positions must be enrolled in or have successfully completed a U.S. J.D. or U.S. LL.M. program or Canadian equivalent. Hiring for our Paris office is coordinated locally.

Paris Internship Program

S&C offers internships to French law students for three-month periods. In addition to excellent grades, fluency in English is required. Most of our interns are students in Master 2 or are enrolled in l’Ecole de formation du barreau.

Interns are expected to work in a similar manner to junior associates and are involved in all aspects of transactions on which the Firm advises, including the structuring of a transaction and the drafting and negotiation of the legal documentation. Our goal is to evaluate our interns in actual practice in order to determine which of them could be offered a permanent position as associates at S&C.

Applicants must submit a cover letter and a resume at least nine to 12 months prior to the beginning of the internship in question. Paid internships are available throughout the year.
