LOS ANGELES, CA / NEW YORK, NY (SEPTEMBER 8, 2026) – Sullivan & Cromwell LLP today announced that Viet D. Dinh, one of the nation’s leading lawyers, has joined the Firm as a partner resident in our Los Angeles office. Viet will advise boards of directors, senior executives and other key decision-makers on major transactions, corporate governance, regulatory and public-policy matters, litigations and investigations, and other complex matters requiring coordinated legal and business judgment.

Mr. Dinh most recently served as Chief Legal and Policy Officer of Fox Corporation, where he was a member of the senior leadership team and oversaw the company’s legal, compliance, regulatory, government and public-affairs functions. He continued to serve as a Special Advisor to Fox’s leadership after stepping down from his executive role. He previously served as a member of the boards of directors of News Corporation and 21st Century Fox.

Before joining Fox, Mr. Dinh was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, having previously founded Bancroft PLLC, a Washington, D.C.-based firm known for high-stakes appellate and other complex litigation and crisis-management matters. From 2001 to 2003, he served as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was responsible for major legal-policy and national-security matters, including following the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Mr. Dinh was also a professor at Georgetown University Law Center for two decades. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where he was a member of the Harvard Law Review. He clerked for Justice Sandra Day O’Connor of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judge Laurence H. Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

- Standard Chartered Bank, Bank J. Safra Sarasin AG, and Simgest SPA in obtaining the dismissal, affirmed on appeal, of hundreds of adverse actions brought by liquidators of investment funds that placed substantially all of their assets with Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, which collapsed in the wake of Bernard Madoff’s arrest in 2008.
