Together with OpenAI, Sullivan & Cromwell announced the collaborative development of Agreement Analyzer, a custom application that integrates S&C’s workflows with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise. The tool was included in the launch of OpenAI’s Astra for Law, which combines GPT‑6 Astra, OpenAI’s latest and most powerful model, with settings, tools, and context tailored for professional legal work.
Designed to help S&C’s global team of lawyers analyze agreements of all types using select S&C precedents and negotiating playbooks, the application provides deep and repeatable analyses that support lawyers by assisting them in identifying issues, preparing comments and supporting negotiations.
S&C Partner John Savva developed the application and collaborated with OpenAI engineers to refine, enhance and prepare it for broader deployment. The tool was unveiled at the OpenAI for Law Summit held in New York on September 17, 2026.
The partnership underscores S&C’s commitment to innovation and its position at the forefront of the AI evolution in legal technology. As AI continues to transform the delivery of legal services, Sullivan & Cromwell is developing custom AI applications that align with the way our lawyers work and provide Firm clients with optimal service.
