S&C was recognized by LatinFinance for advising VMOS S.A. on its $2 billion syndicated secured term loan facility to finance the development of Argentina’s Vaca Muerta Sur Pipeline project, which was named “Oil and Gas Financing of the Year” at the publication’s Project & Infrastructure Financing Awards.
The project represents Argentina’s most important private infrastructure project in decades. The financing is the largest commercial loan for an infrastructure project in Argentine history and one of five largest oil and gas financings in Latin America.
This financing is highly significant for Argentina, the broader Latin American region and the global energy markets. It reopened the international project finance market to Argentina after years in which it was closed. It is also the first financing of a significant project under Argentina’s new investment promotion regime, the “Incentive Framework for Large Investments” (Régimen de Incentivos para Grandes Inversiones or RIGI).
This financing was previously named “Project Finance: Energy and Natural Resources Deal of the Year” by Latin Lawyer, “Americas Oil & Gas Deal of the Year” by Project Finance International and “Loan of the Year” by LatinFinance.
The team representing VMOS includes Sergio Galvis, Nikolaos Andronikos, Benjamin Kent, Andrew Brod, Michael Anderson, Sergio Garrido Vallespí and Sam Fineberg. Eric Wang and Alexei Owen advised on U.S. tax matters.
