Four S&C deals won Latin Lawyer’s “Deals of the Year” awards spanning M&A, project finance, energy and regulatory, the most of any law firm. S&C advised:
- Minera Los Pelambres on its $2 billion project financing to expand its water infrastructure assets, which won “Project Finance: Infrastructure Deal of the Year.” The team was led by Sergio Galvis and Benjamin Kent and included Ian Forsyth.
- VMOS on its $2 billion landmark Argentine energy infrastructure project financing, which won “Project Finance: Energy and Natural Resources Deal of the Year.” The team was led by Sergio Galvis, Nikolaos Andronikos and Benjamin Kent and included Andrew Brod, Michael Anderson, Ian Forsyth, Sergio Garrido Vallespí and Sam Fineberg.
- The Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank) on the transfer of its banking operations in Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama to Colombia’s Banco Davivienda S.A., which won “Mergers and Acquisitions: Private Companies Deal of the Year.” The team was led by Stephen Salley and included Daniel Rua and Wen Zhang.
- Bancolombia on its strategic corporate structure changes creating Grupo Cibest S.A., which won “Regulatory Deal of the Year.” The team was led by Sergio Galvis and Patrick Brown and included Ethan Chess and Conor Guest.
