Asian Legal Business honored S&C for its work on Japan Post Bank’s second follow-on global stock offering, which was named “Equity Market Deal of the Year” at the Japan Law Awards, which recognize the “achievements and contributions to the industry” of the top legal practitioners and firms in Japan.
S&C advised Japan Post Bank, one of the largest financial institutions in Japan, in an approximately ¥592 billion (approximately $4 billion) global offering of its common stock, including a public offering in Japan and an international offering outside Japan in reliance on Rule 144A and Regulation S. This was the largest equity offering in Japan in 2025.
The S&C team representing Japan Post Bank as issuer and Japan Post Holdings as selling shareholder in the offering included Keiji Hatano, Nirav Mehta and Eric Ressler.
