S&C has been shortlisted for two Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Awards Europe:
- “Innovative Lawyers in Dealmaking” for advising Sportradar in earning CMA merger clearance for its acquisition of IMG ARENA and its global sports betting rights portfolio from Endeavor Group and OB Global Holdings. In a rare approval of a “failing firm” argument, the CMA agreed that IMG Arena would have otherwise exited the UK market without the acquisition. The S&C team advising Sportradar includes Juan Rodriguez, Dominic Connors and trainee solicitor Jenna Park.
- “Innovative Lawyers in Unlocking Capital” for advising Merck KGaA in its acquisition of SpringWorks Therapeutics for a purchase price of $47 per share in cash, representing an equity value of approximately $3.9 billion. At the time, the transaction constituted one of the most sizeable healthcare deals in years. The S&C team was led by Matthew Hurd, Eric Krautheimer, York Schnorbus and Florian Späth.
