S&C advised on four matters that earned accolades from the Global Banking & Markets Latin America Awards, which recognize the “most innovative and ground-breaking deals” in the region.
We advised:
- Minera Los Pelambres on its $2 billion project financing to expand its water infrastructure assets, which won “Innovative Deal of the Year.” This transaction involved pioneering features, including the unbundling of Minera Los Pelambres’ water facilities from the rest of the business to provide infrastructure returns to investors without being subject to the commodity price risks inherent in a mining business. The S&C team was led by Sergio Galvis and Benjamin Kent.
- VMOS on securing a $2 billion syndicated secured term loan facility to finance the development of the Vaca Muerta Sur Pipeline project, which won “Project/Infrastructure Finance Deal of the Year” and “Argentina Debt Deal of the Year.” This is the most important private Argentine infrastructure project in decades, the largest commercial loan for an infrastructure project in Argentine history, and one of the top five oil and gas financings in Latin America. The team was led by Sergio Galvis, Nikolaos Andronikos and Benjamin Kent.
- The banks that served as global coordinators and joint lead bookrunners for United Mexican States’ dual tranche €5 billion and $8 billion registered global notes offerings, which won “Sovereign, Supra & Agency Bond Deal of the Year.” The S&C team was led by Chris Mann and Alan Fishman.
- The underwriters for The Republic of Colombia on its €4.1 billion triple tranche bond issue, which won “Colombia Debt Deal of the Year.” The S&C team was led by Alan Fishman.
