S&C was named a Fintech “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360. In an interview with the publication, S&C Partners Andrew Gerlach, Jacob Croke and Mario Schollmeyer discussed the success of the Firm’s practice.
“S&C is often at its best at the intersection of advice in regulatory gray areas and helping clients make judgment calls about transactions or activities … where the law is undeveloped and unclear,” says Andrew. “I think because of our broader expertise with regulatory matters and our relationships with the regulators, we can help clients navigate some of these gray areas.”
In addition to representing FTX in one of the most complex bankruptcies and financial investigations ever, S&C also recently advised SmartBiz Loans in its acquisition of United Community Bancshares and its subsidiary Centrust Bank. It also obtained a summary judgment decision vacating the SEC’s rules expanding the definition of “dealers” on behalf of two nonprofits representing participants in the digital assets industry.
S&C was named a “Firm of the Year” for its showing in these awards, with six practices selected.
