Patrick Gadson, Co-Head of S&C’s Shareholder Activism Practice, was named one of 10 “Shareholder Activism Distinguished Advisers” in Financier Worldwide’s 2026 Power Players List, which recognizes leading practitioners in the field.
In a Q&A with the magazine, Patrick discussed shareholder activism’s continued resilience amid market volatility. “The tactics may shift, the themes may evolve, and the messaging may change, but activism itself is not going away,” he said. “It will continue to adjust to whatever market conditions define the next cycle.”
Reflecting on his career, Patrick emphasized the value of staying curious rather than chasing prestige. “In this business, you should never stop learning or striving to improve,” he said. “When I entered this profession, my goal was simple: to learn more than I knew the day before and to be a better adviser than I was the day before.… I still approach my career the same way.”
