S&C is a finalist for three Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Awards:
- “Innovative Lawyers in Dealmaking” for advising Discover in its $50.6 billion merger with Capital One, the largest combination approved by federal banking regulators since the Global Financial Crisis. The S&C team was led by Rodge Cohen, Mitch Eitel and Jared Fishman.
- “Innovative Lawyers in Restructuring” for the Firm’s novel approach that allowed FTX to emerge from Chapter 11 under a $14+ billion plan in which former customers and holders of FTX’s digital assets will recover in excess of the value of their claims as of the bankruptcy filing. The S&C team was led by Andy Dietderich and Jim Bromley.
- “Innovative Lawyers in Infrastructure” for the Firm’s victory in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit striking down the FCC’s “net neutrality” rules, ending decades of regulatory whiplash for the industry. The S&C team was led by Jeff Wall and Morgan Ratner.
