Steven Peikin, Head of S&C’s Securities & Commodities Investigations Practice, was again named to Securities Docket’s “Enforcement Elite” list for 2025. The list honors the best securities enforcement defense counsel in the industry.
Steve is the only practitioner in the country to have held what are widely considered to be the two most important government positions in securities enforcement: Chief of the Securities Fraud Unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and Co-Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement.
Steve has had a significant role representing institutions and/or their senior executives in virtually every major enforcement initiative of the past two decades, including those relating to the global financial crisis, benchmark interest rates, treasury auction manipulation, foreign bribery, insider trading, SPACs, and digital assets.
