In the past year, S&C has been repeatedly recognized for its dealmaking and litigation skills in some of the largest and most challenging restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings for FTX Trading, SVB Financial Group, Kidde-Fenwal and Diamond Sports Group. Andy Dietderich, Jim Bromley and Alexa Kranzley were named American Lawyer “Dealmakers of the Year” for their work on FTX Trading’s historic bankruptcy; the Firm was named “Bankruptcy Firm of the Year” by Benchmark Litigation; and we were selected as a Law360 Practice Group of the Year for Bankruptcy.
Our success stems from the ability of our “generalist” litigation and deal lawyers to collaborate as one team on Chapter 11 cases and other restructurings.
“Had it not been for the way our bankruptcy capabilities intersected with our litigation, regulation, M&A and criminal defense abilities, we never would’ve achieved the result we achieved,” Andy Dietderich told The American Lawyer in discussing FTX. “This was the ultimate team sport for lawyers, and if we’re proud of anything, we’re proud of the teamwork that resulted in this.”
Recent honors also include Law360 Bankruptcy MVP for Andy Dietderich; Latin Lawyer’s “Restructuring Deal of the Year” for Samarco Mineração’s Reorganization; and Turnarounds & Workouts “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” for Christian Jensen.
