S&C was named a Banking “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360. In an interview with the publication, Camille Orme, Deputy Managing Partner of the Firm’s Financial Services Group, and Andrew Gerlach, Co-Managing Partner of the Firm’s General Practice Group, said the Firm’s collaborative culture and cross-disciplinary teams enabled it to handle some of the biggest and most complex transactions of the year. “It’s an interdisciplinary practice with lawyers with different specialties, but all are familiar with the banking environment more broadly,” said Orme.
The Firm recently advised Discover in its agreement to merge with Capital One in a $35.3 billion all-stock transaction; Fulton Bank in its purchase and assumption agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as receiver of Republic First Bank; and Liberty Strategic Capital—a private equity firm with a leadership group led by former Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin—on its $450 million investment in New York Community Bancorp.
S&C was named a “Firm of the Year” for its showing in these awards, with eight practices selected.
