S&C was named a Fintech “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360. In an interview with the publication, Andrew Gerlach, Co-Managing Partner of S&C’s General Practice Group, described S&C’s efforts on the FTX bankruptcy as “a great example of how the firm works seamlessly across practice groups, across jurisdictions [and] offices … to pull together and provide what we believe to be first-rate services to our clients.”
In addition to representing FTX in one of the most complex bankruptcies and financial investigations ever, S&C also recently obtained a summary judgment for the Blockchain Association and Crypto Freedom Alliance of Texas in their challenge to the SEC’s ‘Dealer Rule’ and advised American Express on its acquisitions of Tock and Rooam.
Stephen Salley, Financial Services Partner and Co-Head of S&C’s Payments Practice, added: “[Clients] continue to come to us on what are usually the more challenging matters, or [those matters] where there's a need to have a particular focus on the regulatory elements of anything that fintechs are doing.”
S&C was named a “Firm of the Year” for its showing in these awards, with eight practices selected.
