Tony Lewis, a partner in S&C’s Criminal Defense & Investigations Group and Co-Head of the Firm’s National Security Practice and Cybersecurity Practice, has been named to the Daily Journal’s “Top White Collar Lawyers” list.
Tony’s practice focuses on international and government investigations and on cybersecurity incident response and advice. He has represented clients in internal investigations and regulatory enforcement proceedings, including with the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and with financial regulators.
Significant investigations often involve strategic counseling alongside trying to achieve the best outcome in a given enforcement action. There are often proceedings in other countries, or with multiple enforcement agencies, and foreseeing how the broader field will play out is critical to making decisions throughout an investigation.
“Significant investigations can start, or become, crisis-level events for companies that require quick decisions by the highest levels of management or the board,” Tony told the Daily Journal. “It is our job to ensure clients are equipped to navigate through these difficult periods.”
