S&C and its client Philips have been shortlisted for The American Lawyer’s “Best Client-Law Firm Team” award for their work managing the legal fallout from a global recall of approximately 15 million sleep and respiratory products. Securing a series of settlements far below and faster than market expectations triggered a stock surge that added billions to the company’s market capitalization overnight.
This joint effort was led by Jap Jongedijk, Philips’ Head of Corporate & Financial Law, and S&C partner Bill Monahan, the Head of the Firm’s Products Liability & Mass Torts Practice. Many other individuals – including, in particular, Marnix van Ginneken, Philips’ General Counsel – made this significant achievement happen.
S&C is also shortlisted for American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Year” for Jeff Wall, “Litigation Department of the Year – Financial Services,” and “Young Lawyer of the Year, Corporate” for Mark Schenkel.
