Morgan Ratner, a partner in S&C’s Litigation Group and member of the Firm’s Supreme Court and Appellate Practice, was named “Young Lawyer of the Year—Litigation” at The American Lawyer Industry Awards.
Morgan advises clients on high-stakes appellate issues and has argued nine times before the U.S. Supreme Court. Her recent accomplishments include helping Goldman Sachs obtain the reversal of class certification in a $13 billion securities case; helping obtain a unanimous Supreme Court ruling for Great Lakes Insurance in a major win for insurers; and helping secure a stay of the FCC’s Title II reclassification of broadband. Morgan also recently delivered important oral arguments in several different federal courts of appeals, including for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Volkswagen, Spirit AeroSystems and Duke Energy.
Morgan believes in passing it on. She is a mentor committed to supporting associates and law students. She has advocated for and supervised early oral argument and other client opportunities for associates, and has led training programs on writing and oral advocacy.
