Wally Jones, the Partner that heads up our Australia practice, was named as one of the inaugural “Dealmakers of the Year 2024” by Australasian Lawyer and NZ Lawyer for his U.S. capital markets work. The inaugural list highlights 25 legal professionals who showcased an impressive array of skills in their work on both Australian domestic and global deals, which involved complex matters and spanned multiple jurisdictions.
Wally led the S&C team that advised on some landmark Australian corporate transactions in 2023, including BHP Group’s US$4.75 billion SEC-registered public offering of guaranteed notes, which was the largest debt offering in the mining industry globally since 2013. Other transactions included advising Mineral Resources, several Australian and New Zealand financial institutions and Northern Star Resources on their debt offerings.
