Renata Hesse, co-head of S&C’s Antitrust Group, was recently named in Global Competition Review’s sixth edition of Women in Antitrust, which celebrates “female private practitioners, enforcers, in-house counsel, economists and academics who deserve recognition for their standout careers.”
“I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunities I’ve had to do interesting work with smart people in a variety of different settings,” Renata said. “My work at the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division and the Federal Communications Commission both brought me a tremendous sense of accomplishment and service, and that is hard to beat. But I also love what I do at Sullivan & Cromwell because I get to help people accomplish their goals – and I get to work with brilliant colleagues while I do that.”

Renata is co-head of the Firm’s Antitrust Group. Her practice focuses on antitrust counseling, cartels and merger clearance. In addition to her work on civil antitrust matters, Renata also has an active practice involving criminal antitrust investigations, including advising clients on no-poach agreements and other wage-fixing and labor market investigations. She currently is the International Officer of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section and is the co-founder of the Americas Chapter of Women@Competition, a platform that promotes and connects women professionals in the antitrust and competition field.
