Over the past year, we unfortunately have been repeatedly reminded that discrimination and prejudice continue to permeate our society. The recent abhorrent attacks targeting members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities should serve as yet another reminder that we all must unite to vigorously combat the forces of hate and bias.
The S&C community is built on the principles of inclusion and acceptance, and we are better and stronger as a result. Thus, we are accountable to ourselves, our colleagues and our broader communities to continuously take actions aimed at effecting positive change. That is one of the reasons why the firm joined the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s March 11 statement denouncing racism and reasserting our commitments to diversity and inclusion.
Our words and actions must always be supportive, welcoming and peaceful, with the aim of ending all manifestations of bias and prejudice.
