Three Sullivan & Cromwell matters were honored with 2020 LatinFinance Deals of the Year Awards, which recognize stand-out transactions in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In the “Issuer of the Year” category, S&C advised the underwriters in a first-of-its-kind offering, in which the United Mexican States raised €750 million under its Sustainable Development Goals Sovereign Bond Framework. S&C, which regularly acts as designated underwriters’ counsel for offerings by the United Mexican States, represented BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc and Natixis Securities Americas LLC as joint lead underwriters and dealer managers. The S&C team was led by Christopher Mann and Werner Ahlers.
In the “Private Equity Deal of the Year” category, S&C advised BofA Securities as financial adviser to Mexican toll road operator Red de Carreteras de Occidente in its acquisition by Abertis and GIC. The S&C team was led by Steve Kotran.
In the “Cross-border M&A Deal of the Year” category, S&C advised Goldman Sachs as the financial adviser to the board of directors of Avon in its acquisition by Nautra &Co, which created the world’s fourth-largest pure beauty group. The S&C team was led by Steve Kotran.
