S&C M&A partner Alison Ressler was one of four professionals named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Business Hall of Fame. This follows Alison and Melissa Sawyer being named to The Deal’s “Women in M&A: Powerhouse 20” list in December. Alison was honored for her work on deals such as Syntel’s acquisition by Atos and Kite Pharma’s sale to Gilead Sciences, among others. “Ressler’s lifeblood are deals like Atos’ Syntel takeover,” the Los Angeles Business Journal wrote. “High-stakes, fast-moving and subject to multiple variables.”
The profile also highlighted Alison’s work across various industries, from the world of tech ($1 billion raised in January for Verily Life Sciences) to sports (Joe Tsai’s purchase of a stake in the Brooklyn Nets) to healthcare (the Kite Pharma deal). “She is a skillful symphony conductor,” said Kite founder and former CEO Arie Belldegrun, who said he was drawn to Ressler because “she had a reputation for getting deals done.”
