Sharon Cohen Levin, Co-Head of S&C’s National Security Practice and a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group, discussed with Barron’s the expectation that the U.S. government will continue to focus on strong sanctions enforcement and money-laundering prevention measures, given the rise in fraud, as well as continuing global conflicts.
“We have seen over the last few years a more aggressive enforcement environment and higher expectations for [Bank Secrecy Act] compliance,” she said, adding that the incoming administration’s approach is still uncertain.
