Dalia Blass, S&C’s Senior Investment Management Partner and the former Director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, discussed the SEC’s proposed rule on predictive data analytics with Ignites. The proposal is said to be the most expensive rule yet—as Dalia noted, it’s “going to be out-of-the-ballpark expensive, because building a compliance regime is practically impossible.”
“It's expensive not only because a compliance system to address all that would be hard to do, but it's also expensive because I honestly don't think you can run your system with that,” she said.
