S&C Senior Chair Rodge Cohen appeared on Bloomberg TV’s The Close to discuss the importance of bank stress tests, which help banks focus on where their risks are. “I’ve always thought that of the numerous changes made by Dodd-Frank, requiring stress tests was one of the most valuable,” he said.
The ongoing questions around the proposed capital rules requirements referred to as “Basel III Endgame” have yet to be answered. “This is the ‘game,’ however, that is at least into triple overtime ... there is uncertainty as to what is going to happen, including process. Will there be a new rule, or will there be a reproposal?”
