Jay Clayton, Senior Policy Advisor and Of Counsel to S&C and former Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box to discuss leveraging U.S. economic power as a way to influence global trade and relations with China.
During the discussion he said that security concerns around TikTok have been brought to public attention given that “countries are appropriately worried that it will be manipulated.” Jay also commented on the balance between free speech and regulation on social media platforms such as X.
