Rachel Yu was profiled in “How I Made Partner,” a series of interviews from The American Lawyer. Rachel, who focuses on intellectual property transactions, discusses what brought her to Sullivan & Cromwell, the role of mentorship in her path to partnership, and the challenges she faced as a new parent at the start of the pandemic. Rachel also offered advice for those early in their careers who may be interested in becoming partner. “Be intellectually curious and open to different opportunities,” she said. “Sometimes that means burning the midnight oil and doing a little bit extra in order to dig deep into an issue, but that extra time will be monumentally rewarding to you in the long run.”
