MediaTek announced a strategic transaction with NVIDIA in which NVIDIA invested $3.5 billion in MediaTek’s convertible bonds offering, making the total offering size $3.9 billion, the largest overseas convertible bond offering by a Taiwan-based company in history.
MediaTek and NVIDIA also announced a business collaboration in conjunction with the investment, aiming to combine NVIDIA’s leadership in accelerated computing and AI platforms with MediaTek’s expertise in custom silicon, high-performance computing and power-efficient system-on-chip design, with a strategic focus on AI infrastructure, local AI computing and automotive.
