DEUTZ entered into an agreement to acquire FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft mbH (FFG) for a purchase price of around €1.6 billion.
FFG is one of Europe's leading providers of military land and special-purpose vehicles and an established partner of the Bundeswehr and armed forces in NATO and Ukraine.
The combination creates a new leading systems provider for military vehicles, propulsion systems and energy solutions in Europe and marks a milestone in DEUTZ’s transformation into a broad-based industrial company. FFG will form the new core of the DEUTZ Defense business unit and will remain operationally independent, with the DEUTZ Group providing the framework for technological, financial and strategic scaling. The transaction is expected to accelerate the DEUTZ Group’s profitable growth.
Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including merger control and foreign investment clearances.
The S&C team advising DEUTZ on all corporate, M&A and regulatory matters is led by Carsten Berrar, York Schnorbus and Stephan Rauch and includes Jannis Rink, Maximilian van der Beck, Luise Blessing and Marie Rossier. Michael Rosenthal, Kolja Ortmann and Sebastian Kerdar are advising on antitrust and FDI matters.
