Blue Pool Capital agreed to invest into newly formed men’s and women’s professional flag football leagues in which the NFL is taking a leading role.
The NFL stated that it is partnering with TMRW Sports to develop and operate the leagues with support from a broad investor group, including institutional investors like Blue Pool Capital, NFL clubs, current and former NFL players and other prominent athletes and strategic investors.
The new league is expected to launch in the run-up to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where flag football will make its Olympic debut.
Blue Pool is an investment manager based in Hong Kong that also serves as the family office of Joe Tsai, an S&C alum who is the co-founder and chairman of Alibaba Group and owner of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty. TMRW Sports is an American sports company founded by sports executive Mike McCarley and professional golfers Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
The S&C team advising Blue Pool Capital includes Rich Le Page, Andrew Ferry and Noah Springer. Isaac Wheeler, Andrew Motten and Joel Forsstrom are advising on tax matters.
