Flix, a global travel tech company, has agreed to an investment by EQT, a global investment firm, and Kühne Holding, the investment vehicle of German billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne. The investment aims to support Flix’s goal of expanding its sustainable and affordable travel offerings.
In addition to a primary investment in Flix, EQT Future and Kühne Holding will acquire shares from existing shareholders to build a long-term anchor shareholding in Flix.
Established in 2013, Flix has developed market-leading positions for long-distance bus travel in Europe, North America and Turkey and is expanding into South America and India through its brands FlixBus, FlixTrain, Kamil Koç and Greyhound. Flix is active in more than 40 countries across four continents. Driven by increased awareness for sustainable travel, Flix aims to become carbon neutral in Europe by 2040 and globally by 2050.
The S&C team advising Flix was led by Carsten Berrar and Florian Späth and includes Michael Rosenthal, Kolja Ortmann, Shajan Kreuter, Felix Melchior and Jan Lukas Werner.
