S&C represents Coronado Coal Group, as U.S. and financing counsel, in its agreement to buy the Curragh coal mine in Queensland, Australia from Wesfarmers Limited for A$700 million, announced December 22, 2017. In connection with the acquisition, Coronado entered into a $550 million senior secured term loan B facility and a $150 million senior secured term loan C facility, as well as foreign exchange and interest rate hedges.
The S&C team on the transaction was led by George Sampas and John Estes, along with Steven Mungovan, Kyra Ayo Caros and Stephen Childs. David Spitzer, along with Max O’Neill and Michael Hogan, advised on tax matters.
