    October 7–8, 2021

Rita O’Neill and Scott Crofton joined the 17th Annual Mergers & Acquisitions Institute, presented by the University of Texas School of Law Office of Continuing Legal Education. This event, which took place in Dallas and virtually on October 7–8, brought together speakers from across the country to discuss the latest deal trends, structures, pitfalls and opportunities in M&A. Rita moderated the discussion, “SPAC-tacular…or Not?” on October 7. The panel examined de-SPAC mergers; how they have changed over time; what regulators are focusing on; and where the SPAC market goes from here. On October 8, Scott joined “Deal Ethics,” a panel discussion of the less talked about but thornier ethical issues facing law firms representing multiple clients who regularly buy and sell companies.
