On October 1, Litigation partner Nicky Friedlander was a featured speaker at the Sandpiper Partners conference, “Modernization of Canadian Privacy and Cybersecurity Framework.” Speakers discussed Canada’s efforts to enhance its cybersecurity regime in an environment marked by increasing cyber-attacks, data breaches and risk. Nicky moderated a panel titled “Cross-Border Regulatory and Enforcement Perspectives.” Her co-moderators on the panel were senior regulators in the U.S. and Canada, including Brent Homan, the Deputy Commissioner of Compliance in Canada’s Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
