On May 15, S&C partners Jim Bromley, Chris Beatty, Chris Howard and Presley Warner hosted an evening seminar on restructuring in the retail industry. This seminar featured two speakers, Richard Heis, chief restructuring officer of Steinhoff International and Mo Meghji, chief restructuring officer of Sears. Moderated by Jim Bromley, Richard and Mo offered their unique insight into the current retail landscape after working on some of the biggest restructurings in the industry. Attendees included a select group of senior investors, lenders, advisors and consultants with interests in the retail industry with representatives in attendance from companies and firms such as AlixPartners, Bank of Ireland Barclays, DC Advisory, FTI Consulting, GLAS, HSBC, PJT Partners and Stibbe. The event was also attended by partners, counsel and associates from S&C’s London, Washington D.C., New York and Frankfurt offices.
