Jean-Pierre Le Gall is of counsel in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Tax Group. An expert in French corporate and tax law, his broad-based practice with the industry and banking sectors encompasses both French domestic and international transactions, focusing in particular on tax-efficient structuring of cross-border corporate mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolutions and arbitration. Mr. Le Gall also has given extensive tax-planning advice for individuals on complex international matters, such as change in residence, real-estate, inheritance and gifts, stock-options and trusts.
Mr. Le Gall is a member of the Paris Bar and is chairman of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association. As a part of his teaching and counsel experience, he has written extensively on the French tax system and tax policy matters, with an emphasis on a wide range of articles and treaties which serve as a reference on merger, acquisition and disposition matters.
