Julia Jordan is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group. Ms. Jordan has a broad litigation practice that includes securities, class action, antitrust, commercial, insurance, white-collar criminal defense and investigations, and regulatory enforcement matters.
Ms. Jordan’s civil practice focuses on complex securities and commercial litigation. She has represented prominent corporations and financial institutions in a wide variety of business litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country.
Ms. Jordan has extensive experience representing clients in criminal and regulatory investigations. She has represented financial institutions, corporations and individuals in investigations and proceedings before the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Congress, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, various state attorney generals and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Selected Recent Civil Cases
- Represents UBS AG and UBS Securities LLC in the federal securities class action pending in Alabama federal court relating to the $2.7 billion alleged accounting fraud at HealthSouth Corporation. S&C settled the derivative claims filed against UBS Securities in Alabama state court for pennies on the dollar before a $2.7 billion verdict was entered against one of UBS Securities’ co-defendants.
- Represents twenty large financial institutions in a fraudulent conveyance action pending in New York County Supreme Court against MBIA Inc. and its subsidiaries in connection with their recent restructuring.
Government Service
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Jordan served as an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted a wide variety of cases.
