• Consistent with our past record of top rankings, Sullivan & Cromwell led the field by value of M&A transactions announced worldwide during the first half of 2011 (sources: Bloomberg, Dealogic, mergermarket and Thomson Reuters). S&C also ranked as the #1 legal advisor (by value) for deals announced in the United States (mergermarket and Thomson Reuters) and Europe (Bloomberg, Dealogic and Thomson Reuters), as well as on cross-border M&A transactions (Bloomberg), for the period.

Perennial Leader in M&A

• S&C is the leading firm in global M&A over the last five years, having advised principals in more than $1.46 trillion in announced transactions worldwide from 2006 to 2010. Over the same period, S&C has been involved in seven of the top 10, representing a principal in three of the top five, announced M&A transactions worldwide (Bloomberg).
• From 2001 to 2010, Sullivan & Cromwell also advised on a greater volume of M&A transactions in the Asia-Pacific region and is the leading firm by value in announced Latin American M&A transactions during that period (Bloomberg).
