Melbourne/Sydney
Sullivan & Cromwell has had strong ties to Australia for decades, and our relationships with a number of large Australian resource companies and financial institutions go back more than a quarter of a century. S&C has established what we believe to be the preeminent U.S. legal practice in Australia and New Zealand, and regularly advises clients on a wide variety of project financings, securities offerings, privatizations and mergers and acquisitions.
S&C’s Melbourne office opened in 1983, and the Sydney office opened in 2001. The Australian offices currently advise more than 80 major clients in Australia and New Zealand, including advising four out of the top six companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Our client base comes from a broad variety of sectors, including resources, banking and finance, retail, telecommunications, property, insurance, industrial and commercial, energy, leisure, infrastructure, and investment and financial services.
