On June 12, S&C and Mr. Sampas were named winners at M&A Advisor’s Second Annual ACG New York Champions Awards Gala, held at Sotheby’s in New York City. Mr. Sampas was named Dealmaker of the Year for his work on Anheuser-Busch's acquisition of Goose Island and Southern Union’s acquisition by Energy Transfer Equity. S&C received the Financial Services Deal of the Year (over $100 mm) and Turn Around Deal of the Year for its work on the Reprivatization of Bank of Ireland. Mr. O’Connor and Mr. Menting led S&C’s efforts on the transaction. In addition, S&C client CONMED Corporation’s joint development and distribution agreement with the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation was awarded the Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year. Mr. Downes and Mr. Jacobs led S&C’s efforts on the transaction. Citadel Broadcasting Corp.’s $2.1 billion acquisition by Cumulus Media Inc. was also named Middle Market Deal of the Year. S&C advised Lazard Frères & Co. and J.P. Morgan Securities as the joint financial advisers to Citadel.
